On 3 September at around 02:00 ADT received an alarm signal from a house in Heuwel Lane, Centurion. ADT Reaction Officer Tshepo Majola was dispatched to the premises and on his arrival found that one of the doors had been forced open. During his inspection, Officer Majola saw two suspects running away from the premises.
At the same time two members of the SAPS were driving past and Officer Majola informed them of the break-in, as well as the two suspects running away from the scene. Officer Majola and the SAPS officers then followed the suspects and apprehended both.
While searching the suspects, it was found that they were wearing gloves covered in glass and blood. Back at the crime scene Officer Majola also noticed blood stains on the ground and pointed it out to the SAPS, which possibly indicated that the suspects had broken into the premises and injured their hands in the process. The suspects were then arrested and taken to the Lyttelton Police Station.
Mike Kidson, Managing Director of ADT Northern Region, commends Officer Majola for an excellent job in assisting the SAPS in arresting the suspects. “Thanks to the Officer’s quick thinking and professionalism, the SAPS could apprehend the suspects in no time. This also marks the importance of setting your alarm and ensuring that your alarm is in working order, as it enables ADT to promptly assist in the case of break-ins.”
