Spruit Day is just around the corner – get involved and take back your greenbelt

Saturday 16 September is Spruit Day which means that residents will be coming out to take part in the annual clean-up of the Braamfontein Spruit. Starting at 09:00 the Community Policing Forum and the Bryanston East Community Forum will be stationed at Riverside Park, opposite the Riverside Shopping Centre, welcoming all who volunteer.

“This year 24 residents associations and special interest groups will be involved in the clean up together with Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo –  an encouraging increase from last year,” says Meghan Perry, the chairwoman of the Spruit Day organizing committee.

Fidelity ADT reaction officers and operations staff will once again be stationed along the route to ensure families are safe during the day.  “We have been involved in Spruit Day for the last few years and believe it is a great way to connect with our community in the area. We want to encourage residents to get involved and join us on the day,” says Agnieszka Gryn, General Manager ADT Inland Region.
