Nelspruit-born Mancoba Dumisani Mnisi has always had a love for music. He studied popular music and sound engineering and his first job was at Changed by the Word Church International as a recording engineer. His love for music also extended to teaching music part time at the Metropolitan International College in White River in Mpumalanga.
In February 2018 Mnisi made a 360-degree career change and joined the private security industry as a trainee Reaction Officer for Fidelity ADT. His move has made dividends as not even two years later he was honoured with a silver award for his bravery at the annual Bravery and Crime Prevention Awards hosted by the private security industry, supported by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
Mnisi’s bravery was recognised when he acted as an informant in certain planned robberies. It allowed him to assist the SAPS with a sting operation that led to the arrest of three men who were planning a robbery. Commenting on Mnisi, Fidelity Services Group’s CEO, Wahl Bartmann, is full of praise for this brave young man. “He is always full of life and energy and keen to learn new things on a daily basis. He enjoys resolving conflict and is a great asset to our business.”
When not saving lives and keeping his community safe, Mnisi relaxes with his family and still enjoys his music and even some motivational speaking. “There is no doubt this is one gentleman who is very focused on developing himself and will go far with this kind of can-do attitude,” concludes Bartmann.
