ADT Officers apprehend suspect following armed robbery at house in Kelvin

On 3 October at around 08:00, five suspects drove up to a property in Harmonia Road, Kelvin, and climbed over the wall. They then proceeded into the house through an unlocked door and found the domestic worker, as well as two residents inside the house. They tied them up with scarfs and ransacked the house.

While the suspects were inside the house, the home owner sensed that something was wrong and called the home. When nobody answered she decided to go to the house, contacting ADT while on route.

As she arrived one of the suspects ran to her car and forced her out of her vehicle. He then searched the car.

Meanwhile ADT Reaction Officers Alfred Ndlovu and Thomas Morerwa were dispatched to the scene and on their arrival apprehended one of the suspects on the premises. They assisted the family, untying them and offering support.

The Sandton SAPS were contacted and arrived to arrest the suspect.

Clive Humphrey, Managing Director of ADT Central Region, says Officers Ndlovu and Morerwa arrived at a highly volatile scene and handled it professionally and competently. “Our Officers are highly trained and I commend them on this apprehension and for professionally and competently assisting the clients after their ordeal,” he says.
