ADT and SAPS nab thieves in Founders View
Three suspects were apprehended after showing up on CCTV monitors while ransacking a property in Wakefield Road.
Around 22:30 on 6 February the suspects jumped over the perimeter fence and climbed onto the roof where they cut open the corrugated iron with a bolt cutter and broke the ceiling. They entered the property through the hole and ransacked an office.
The ADT client saw the suspects’ activities on the CCTV monitors and alerted ADT. Reaction Officers Peter Mohale and Bongani Mawela were dispatched and on arrival entered the premises with the client. The Officers apprehended one suspect.
Shortly afterwards, the Sebenza SAPS arrived at the scene and apprehended the two other suspects as well.
Clive Humphrey, Managing Director of ADT Central Region, applauded the Officers for their prompt response to the incident, and assisting the SAPS in apprehending the suspects. “Partnerships between private security companies and the SAPS create a strong force for fighting crime.”
