Diesel thieves target school generator

During the early hours of 27 November, four suspects broke into a primary school in the Vaal with plans to steal diesel from the school’s generator. Fidelity ADT Reaction Officers Lefu Ralejoe and Moeketsi Ramohlokoane were on duty when they received a call from the control room saying there was a break-in in progress at the school.

“The Officers arrived at around 01:35. A client had reported that he had seen four suspects on the school grounds so the Officers started an inspection of the premises,” says Elizna Schulz Branch Manager Fidelity ADT. “They found the suspects who scattered as soon as they saw the Officers. Fortunately, the Officers managed to catch one of the suspects who was draining diesel from the school generator and had already loaded 600 litres of fuel onto a lowbed truck.”

Upon investigation it was found that the suspects had broken through a palisade fence and cut the padlocks to the generator storeroom.

“The suspect was handed over to the Sebokeng SAPS and the truck was confiscated. Fortunately, the suspects didn’t get away with any of the diesel. We congratulate Officers Ralejoe and Ramohlokoane on this arrest,”she concludes.
