Over the next couple of months Security in Glenvista and Mulbarton is being bulked up with the addition of a Fidelity ADT Specialised Response Vehicle manned by highly experienced SRU Officer, Nelson Maboko.
Linda Goodenough, Community Development Manager for Fidelity ADT says she is so delighted to welcome an officerof Maboko’s stature to the team. He has been with Fidelity ADT for the past 13 years and two and half years ago he was selected to join the elite Specialised Response Unit. He will now be based in the South supporting the existing Reaction teams.
Goodenough says the specialised teams receive very advanced tactical firearm and security training and do refreshers every three months. They also train with the South African Police Services team. Taking control and managing a crime scene is one of the key strengths of the unit and Maboko will be an invaluable asset to our teams.
Just recently he was able to respond to an incident in the area. As the first respondent he provided medical assistance, called for an ambulance, secured the injured drivers personal belongings and stayed with the injured driver until medical assistance arrived. “This is exactly the kind of experience which saves lives,” says Goodenough. “The first golden hour in an accident is critical and I am so proud of the way Officer Maboko conducted himself and preserved the accident scene,” she concludes.
