Money raised at fun run used to repair roof at children’s home

The recent fun run hosted by Fidelity ADT at Driehoek High School raised over R12 000 that will be used primarily to repair the roof of Gemma House, a children’s home in Vereeniging. “We first got involved with Gemma House through a community day we hosted in Deneysville,” says Elizna Schulz from Fidelity ADT. “We supplied them with a free security system and realised they needed more support which inspired us to arrange the fun run.”

Over 150 people attended the run and were generous with sponsorships. The Fidelity ADT team stepped up as marshals and cheered the runners on.

“There are currently five children living at Gemma House which is run by an amazing couple who are both paramedics, Mary-Anne and Doug Rautenbach. We have already fixed the geyser and with the money raised we plan to reseal the roof and hopefully repaint the house. Many thanks to all those from the community and Fidelity ADT for making this fundraiser a success,” concludes Schulz.

Anyone wanting to further assist Gemma House can contact Elizna Schulz on 072 644 3817.
