Winnie Mandela Primary School in Tembisa and Mikateka Primary in Ivory Park both received a fresh lick of paint and much-needed repairs as part of African Bank’s Mandela Day drive.
The Bank’s Branch Network team headed to Winnie Mandela Primary on 20 July and after the painting and repair work was done, the team enjoyed fun activities with the kids which included a jumping castle and face painting. The school also received a donation of various items including 20 computers.
On 18 July, Mikateka Primary School was visited by African Bank’s Contact Centre team which enthusiastically painted and repaired the Grade R class. A jumping castle and face painting made the day extra special for the learners.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the centenary of Nelson Mandela’s birth by brightening up these schools and having time with the kids,” says Kennedy Dembethembe, National CSI manager African Bank. “Our aim was to get 100 volunteers from the Bank involved and we had a great response. Many thanks to all who got involved.”
