On Thursday evening the 13 June, the Free State SAPS together with CPF leader, Mr. Johann Griesel, and a number of private security companies in the region, carried out a show of force to demonstrate the strong partnership and teamwork which exists in the region.
Fanie Lombard, Community Development Manager for Fidelity ADT – Vaal and Welkom region, says the excellent relationship between the SAPS, CPF and private security is essential in combatting crime. Lombard says more than a 100 attendees from various security companies, police and CPF members were present.
Fidelity-ADT senior response officer, Jonas Belo, opened the entire event with a prayer. “Fidelity ADT had three Armed Response vehicles and three Technical vehicles at the event which was led by Mark Pearson, Fidelity ADT Operational Manager and Johan Strydom, Fidelity ADT Fleet Line Manager. The team carried out patrols within certain areas within Sasolburg.
“It sent a clear message to criminals that crime will not be tolerated and was an excellent example of the trio partnership in action,” says Lombard.
The CPF Chairman, Mr. J Griesel, confirmed that this initiative provides a model to replicate the working partnership to other stations across the province and country. “It demonstrated how well large scale operations can be coordinated and run through these partnerships,” concludes Mr. Griesel.
