On 15 November, Fidelity ADT received an alarm activation from a property in Denyssen Street, Mountain View, Pretoria. Reaction Officer Selala was dispatched to the scene and on his arrival noticed that a window had been broken and the burglar bars bent. He immediately called for back-up and Officer Malatji arrived. The two Officers made contact with the home owner and together they entered the property. The Officers searched the property and found a suspect hiding in a cupboard. “The Officers apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the Hercules SAPS for further questioning,” says Leon Muller, District Manager Fidelity ADT.
“Fortunately, the alarm was set and triggered before the suspect could make off with anything of value. We urge all residents to make sure that alarms and beams are set and that panic buttons have been tested and are working. This time of year we generally see an increase in incidents of theft so please ensure your security is top of mind,” he concludes.
