Top industry speakers to address SAMBRA Conference

Robert Snook, self-confessed genuine collision industry fan, global speaker, business coach, mentor and CEO of Business Success Global, will be one of the keynote speakers at the 2019 South African Motor Body Repairers’ Association (SAMBRA) Conference and Exhibition which will take place between 17 – 19 October at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

“As CEO of his own multi-award winning MSO bodyshop group and a respected leader with 35 years of collision repair experience, it will be an honour and a privilege to have someone of Robert Snook’s stature in the marketplace address our 2019 Conference on the 18 October,” says Richard Green, National Director of SAMBRA, a proud association of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI). Green confirmed that there would also be a panel of other influential speakers who will add value and insight to the day.

Snook’s journey started in 1984 as a 16-year-old school leaver who didn’t know what he wanted to do next. He just knew that he wanted to leave school. His father found him a job as an apprentice paint technician. By 20 he was already inspiring two apprentices of his own before going on to supervise paint teams in accident repair and prestige vehicle restoration centres.

In 1996 he entered the corporate world as the new Spies Hecker technical demonstrator and just 10 years later became the UK and Ireland Sales Manager, before deciding to leave corporate life to build his own business.

Today, Snook is best known as an owner and CEO of multi award winning MG Cannon – a UK MSO Bodyshop Group and as a Director of another of his businesses, Business Success Global, where he is a respected and highly regarded speaker, moderator, coach and mentor.

“Throughout his career, he has consistently built a track record of success, leading businesses and successful teams to achieve and exceed set objectives and industry benchmarks. We believe his insights and advice at our MBR conference will be advantageous to many of our members who are managing within a rapidly transforming industry and share concerns about sustainability and growth. His interactive learning and engaging style will provide members with enormously valuable learnings that can be taken away and implemented immediately,” says Green.

“We are passionate about improving the leadership and management skillset of the collision repair industry so that owners, network managers and markets get more reward from the enormous effort they invest in our industry. Our passion and energy manifests itself in the delivery our three core values of being inspiring, motivating and empowering in all we do,” adds Snook. The bi-annual SAMBRA Conference has become an important milestone on the automotive calendar bringing together a mix of MBRs (motor body repairers), insurers, OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and paint and equipment suppliers.  The Conference will culminate on 19 October with the annual SAMBRA Awards gala dinner which honours all players for their contribution to the sustainability of motor body repairers in South Africa.
