Two suspects caught stealing from café in Orange Grove

Two suspects were arrested yesterday (12 September) by Fidelity ADT Officers following a robbery at a café on Louis Botha Avenue in Orange Grove. At around 20:00 Fidelity ADT received a panic alarm from the café. Two Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene and on arrival noticed two suspects running out of the shop and jumping into a white Toyota Corolla.

The Officers immediately started chasing the vehicle and managed to bring it to a stop. They ordered the suspects to get out at which point one suspect made a run for it and the other two were caught by the Officers. A second security company arrived to assist.

The vehicle was inspected and a firearm was found on the floor of the passenger seat. Items, including money and cell phones, that had been stolen from the shop were also found in the vehicle. The Norwood SAPS arrived on the scene and took the suspects into custody.

Natasha Springfield, Community Development Manager from Fidelity ADT, says the Officers responded in record time and took control of the situation immediately. “Fortunately, the café owner had a panic button on hand so we were alerted very quickly. We congratulate the officers on these arrests and commend them on their professionalism, “Springfield concludes.
