Just after midday on 11 July two suspects broke into a house in Nymphe Street, Kensington. They derailed the main gate and found the front door unlocked. As they opened it the alarm activated and Fidelity ADT was alerted.
Fidelity ADT Reaction Officer X Mamabolo responded to the alarm and arrived to find a staff member standing outside the property. Together they entered the property and apprehended the suspects who were trying to steal scrap metal.
Natasha Springfield, Community Development Manager Fidelity ADT, says both suspects were handed over to the Cleveland SAPS. “I encourage all residents to ensure their doors are locked and alarms set. Fortunately in this case the alarm activated and the suspects were caught red-handed. Please also ensure that your perimeter security is checked regularly to see if there are any weak spots. Call on a professional to assist,” she says.
