Impact area
The Brief
  1. Increase MSA’s voice in the sector and start owning the champions narrative.
  2. Improve understanding of the role of MSA with members.
  3. Assist with overall reputation and crisis management.

Earned media performance

From having no bespoke voice in the media in the first 12 months, we achieved:

  • 1191 placements across print online and broadcast
  • On average 67% (798 placements) of these were as a direct result of content generated by CFPR
  • Tonality: 100% positive and include a spokesperson from MSA
  • This is way above the industry norm for “earned media” placement
  • A total of 34 press releases drafted over the period and 15 radio or television interviews secured
  • The brand has subsequently grown from strength to strength.

Social media growth

  • Facebook reach: Up by 195% to 53 000
  • Instagram reach: Up by 63.8%
  • Facebook page likes: Up by 33%
  • Facebook content interaction: Up by 359.4%
  • Instagram content interaction: Up by 100%
  • Facebook page visits: Up by 242.7%
  • Instagram profile visits: Up by 41.2%

Growing reach, engagement, and profile visits are just a snapshot of the bigger picture
but provide clues as to what we’re doing right, and how we can improve.

Results

CFPR went beyond simply reporting on events; we strategically crafted narratives that captivated audiences and promoted positive perceptions of MSA like our reporting on FIM International Games, World Rally Raid, African Karting Cup and the 2024 FIM Africa Motocross of African Nations (MXOAN) Continental Championship.

Highly effective, especially in driving positive media coverage and shaping the narrative around MSA’s leadership, event promotion, and participant stories.

Reference

In 2022, I re-engaged CFPR in my current capacity as Chairman of Motorsport South Africa (MSA), with the goal of revitalising MSA’s brand, elevating its profile, and driving both business and promotional PR. Cathy and her team have once again proven their deep strategic acumen and passion for impactful storytelling.
Their work has spanned key events such as the African Karting Cup, the Dirt Bike Festival, the Motocross of African Nations, and the SA Safari Rally. Most notably, their communications campaign around MSA’s work at Daniel Pienaar Technical High School played an instrumental role in the organisation being awarded the FIA President’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Award – an accolade that placed South Africa among global leaders in motorsport inclusivity.

CFPR brings a unique combination of professionalism, strategic insight, and hands-on delivery. Their understanding of organisational culture, attention to detail, and seamless collaboration with internal teams have made them an invaluable partner. Cathy’s personal integrity and her team’s responsiveness and service excellence are hallmarks of their work, and I would not hesitate to recommend CFPR to any organisation seeking to enhance its reputation, stakeholder engagement, and brand impact.
